What is the meaning of dye sublimation printing? The definition of dye sublimation printing is that it is a digital printing technology for printing full color artwork on polyester and polymer-coated substrates. Also referred to as digital sublimation, it is used for t-shirt printing, polo shirt printing, uniform printing, and just about any type of polyester-based apparel you can think of. The process uses the science of sublimation, in which heat and pressure are applied to a solid, turning it into a gas through without passing through the liquid phase. This allows the dye to become permanently infused into the material.
At Customized Philippines, the sublimation printing process starts when we print your design onto special transfer paper using a digital printer loaded with sublimation inks. White polyester fabric is carefully placed on top of the print and then moved into a heat press where high heat is applied to it using a hydrolic heat press. The dye sublimation ink immediately transforms into gas, permeating the fabric. Once cooled down, the dye fuses into the threads of the fabric, making it permanent and therefore unaffected by washing or ironing. The printed fabric is then taken to our sewing facility where a team of sewers will cut the fabric into separate pieces, then sew them together to form the final product.
The advantage of dye sublimation printers is that you can print virtually any color and any design you want, giving you full flexibility to design the polo shirt, t-shirt, or uniform that you have in mind. This is great for sports and corporate environments where specific colors or a lot of customization is required such as when you have different player number and names on sports apparel.
